You know, it's a funny thing...I started this blog in order to be in a "blog contest"...I had always wanted to write, and blog was something I could do, thinking maybe I could express myself better. They wanted a subject for every letter of the alphabet. I thought, well, I have a lot to bitch about, as to everything that's wrong with my city, my state, the nation...and the whole world for that matter, so why not make a series out of it?.
So, as the world would have taken WAYYYYY too long, I decided to stick with my native land. Thus, America's 26 Deadly Sins was born. I had to bunch a few subjects together along the original 26; but by the time I was halfway through the alphabet, I soon realized that 26 days wouldn't be nearly enough. Therefore, when I finished the first batch, I shortened the title of the blog to "America's Deadly Sins", and...well, you all know what happened then. If you don't, then lemme tell ya. I kept going. And the more I went on, the madder and more upset I got. I never used to be the "give a crap" type, and I was certainly never EVER political. Funny how things change in just six months, huh?
I just have to say it...We're currently at 120+ posts, and there just doesn't seem to be an end to all there is wrong in this, our formerly great nation. That's very upsetting. Thus, I figure, it's time to break from what's wrong for a minute, and try a new tack.
Thus, this, the "Power Of;" Series. It's time we put those wrong, bad, and difficult things under the rug for a minute; and go with some good. That stuff was actually starting to really get ME down as well, and I'm sorry...but there just HAS to be a light SOMEPLACE...right????
You folks riding the upper crust, you probably don't have a clue what I'm talking about...concerning the bad, or the good. You remain blind to the bad; hell, you always have, why should I really expect you to change now? No, you can just keep moving along, just like you always do, as far as I'm concerned. As with our entire history, you'll just continue blithely and naively along, stepping on the dirt instead of digging it up to see what's really underneath. I expect that from you. It's OK, really. You don't seem to get that it's truly the two lower classes that have made this country what it is, and as great as it has been. You think you did that; but I hate to disappoint you, you had very little to do with how great our country was at different times. Oh, make no mistake, we little people couldn't have done it without you. I've said it before, we couldn't have an America without all three parts. Somebody, of course, has to fork out the big bucks and be in charge; but it's working America that did the hard parts, of that you can bet. But we all know that you'll be garnering all the credit, just like you always have; God forbid you folks should give any credit where it's due. We'll be all good though, don't worry 'bout us. We worker ants know the real deal, and that's all that matters.
Never mind that though, that's not where I'm trying to go with this. No, this time, I believe it's time we threw our chests out and put our chins back into the air...and talk about what can happen, if it's not too late. Granted, our moves are going to have to be radical, and they're going to also have to be timely and quick, and if we move as discussed here, we can bring back and take back the ground we've lost, and perhaps save our country. What was that little thing again?? You remember....started with an H, didn't it???
HOPE. Yeah. That was it. Any of that stuff left? I have to wonder sometimes. I know I don't often have an awful lot left sometimes...Oh Hell, what am I talking about; more often than not, there's not a lot of hope in my life, really. OK, I give up....I really have next to none. You have me dead to rights, I'm afraid.
There are so many messed up people in our world today, and I hate to say it, but I've either met a lot of them, or I've gotten to know them personally. Some were even uncontrollably in my damn family even!! From years ago to present, that list includes my teachers in Baptist grade school, my mother, my aunt, my (non-twin) uncle, my 2nd foster family's evenly aged brother, the people who tried to Johnny Gosch me, my brother, my first-sergeant in Germany, The only girl in the whole company who had sex with everyone there...except me, the drunken idiots who stole my stuff in NM, the "madam" who let me run her outcall service, watched as I turned it into a gold mine, then later told everyone she was the successful owner of that business, her idiot boyfriend when I met her, the girl I gave acid to when I was a dumb kid, who then turned around and gave them to her 12 and 13 year old sisters, then told them to say I had given it to them when they freaked out, the girl who tattooed a huge "A" on my chest in hickeys because I fell asleep on her when we had sex (her name started with A), my ex-wife, her sicko son, my first son's mother, my third son's mother, the person who stood my 2nd wife and I up on our wedding day with the limo service, then declared bankruptcy so we couldn't sue them, the people who stole our brand new $50000 mobile home, Obama, Bobbie Spoon, Theresa, Jacque Karlsen, Dawn Brueggeman Lempke...and the list goes on....and on....and on.......bad people who populate an even more hopeless world.
But there are things...and people, that have happened to me of late that give me hope, even in the face of the severest of adversity. The face of a beautiful little girl. She's not my flesh and blood, but right now she means more to me than ..well, just about anything. Then there are people like my friends Bill, Richard, Mr. Mays, DJ, Diane...honest good people. TJ, Lainey Sue, my wife Liz, whom I love with all my heart, and who I will continue to fight to protect from all the evil in the world, and in our country. To me, she is a shining example of what and how people should really be like. These people remind me that there are still decent people with conscience; that, when faced with temptation, wouldn't hurt a fly, and love helping people instead. Now, if I only had access to a cloning machine so I could make a world full of them..
Finally, there's my newest buddy, my little boy TT. Without his cute little face and his one ear up and one ear down look; the way he hops into my arms when I'm upset at the U.S. and human (not so) -kind, I would probably be a lost boy right about now...even he makes me hopeful. It's because of only these people that I still survive to roam this world, in all its current darkness. Because of these special beings, human and animal alike, I have hope...for my family, for the United States, and for the world. There is a light...albeit a dim one, that still shines at the end of the tunnel. Be sure an hold on to your personal lights, and hopefully, we'll take note and live as they do. :D
